Biographical Info My name is Sylwia Rakus-Kates, and I am the founder and owner of Rakus Rentals LLC, a hospitality and property management business offering both short-term and long-term rentals throughout New York City. I am dedicated to creating comfortable, welcoming homes and elevated guest experiences through attentive service, communication, and detail-oriented operations. I am originally from Poland, and my entrepreneurial journey began after immigrating to the United States, guided by resilience, curiosity, and the belief that meaningful work can be built from the ground up. As a businesswoman, I continue to grow Rakus Rentals LLC with a focus on quality, reliability, and genuine human connection. Outside of business, I am a mother of two, an active tennis player at the historic West Side Tennis Club, and a competitive distance runner who participates in local 5K and half marathon events. I am currently writing a memoir about my immigrant journey, entrepreneurship, personal challenges, and transformation. My story reflects both strength and evolution — a celebration of courage, reinvention, and the pursuit of possibility.
